Arizona Ice Tea

Arizona Tea Quickly Grows To Number Three

About the only thing southwestern about Arizona Ice Tea is the design of the package and the determination of the founders. Founded in 1971 as beer distributor in New York, even as their distributorship grew into one of the largest in the New York market, the company’s founders decided that with the apparent clamor for ready to drink iced tea products, they should consider entering the market.

They developed Arizona Tea in 1992 and in just a few short years, their marketing savvy from their distribution business, helped it grow into one of the leading brands in the New York market. In 1994, they embarked on a nationwide marketing campaign and grew the sales of Arizona Tea to its current position as the third largest tea product, in terms of sales, in the country.

Using a 24-ounce Arizona Tea can and the southwestern can design, the company aimed to stand out among the rest. Over the years they enlisted help of artists to design cans that make the product more noticeable while on store shelves. Buckeye Blake and Peter Max have been enlisted in the past to create unique designs for the company’s leading brand.

Expanded Flavors Helps Expanded Sales

The introduction of other flavors such as seven flavored teas, four flavored diet teas along with malts and coladas, added to the company’s tremendous growth in a market that can’t seem to get enough of the ready to drink Arizona Tea products. It also introduced its 24-ounce sport bottle, unique to the industry, along with its bottle in 24 and 16-ounce size and juice boxes.

As the country’s quest for healthy drinks continues to grow the use of iced tea products is also experiencing a surge of growth. Companies that promote tea as a healthy alternative to other types of drinks have a lot of research done on tea that backs up the claims of Arizona Tea offering benefits not found in many other refreshments. Black tea, green tea and herbal teas are only part of the Arizona Tea product mix and their mix of half juice, half tea is finding greater acceptance for the health conscious as well as for its taste.

Energy drinks have also joined the Arizona Tea label along with chips and salsa to help the company round out its offerings of snacks. Along with beer, infused water and spring water the company can help customers find a wide range of great tasting products from which to choose.
